Playing REal Media content in Winamp

OK I realize I'm a little late to this ball game, but I've finally decided to use Winamp to play all my real media files. I currently have the Tara Real Audio plug-in and Real Alternative 1.45 installed. When I open an RM file in Winamp, I get no audio. Is there a way to use Winamp to play RealPlayer content without having it installed?
